Kerry Airport today announce 2008 Results

Kerry Airport has today released their Annual Report & Accounts for the year ended 31st October 2008. Operating Profit for the Airport Operations was €263,557 on a throughput of 419,114 passengers for the year. Final Profit after Taxation was €327,541 down from €565,809 in the previous year.

Highlights of the Report include:

Passenger numbers up 8% on previous year to 419,114 due to new Luton service.
Revenue up 6.7% to €6,975,565
Overhead costs up 13% in period
Operating Profit of €263,557 down 16% on previous year.

Commenting on the financials and the on-going operations of the Airport for the year Mr. Denis Cregan, Chairman of Kerry Airport:
“Our growth in traffic is encouraging considering the global economic events of 2008. We are continuing to work closely with the airlines to improve our current services and improve the level of service for our customers. Profit levels are less than those targeted and particular concern is that our cost base continues to expand at rates greater than our Revenue growth which is unsustainable and will require action.”
